Our Story
Ashford Books began with a clear vision: to publish books that inspire, inform, and bring creative ideas to readers around the world. Originally established by Ashford Magazines in the early 1990s, the publishing house quickly gained recognition for producing visually striking and commercially successful titles.
In 2012, Ashford Books entered a new chapter when it was acquired by Allen & Unwin, USA's largest independent publisher. This partnership brought together a shared passion for creativity, storytelling, and high-quality publishing. The result was a strong foundation that allowed Ashford Books to expand its reach and continue developing exceptional books across multiple categories.
From the beginning, our focus has been on publishing work from fresh, talented voices and creative thinkers with unique perspectives. Our catalog includes bestselling and award-winning titles built around four core pillars: Food, Home, Gift, and Life. Each book we publish is carefully developed to combine strong storytelling with beautiful design and meaningful content.
While Ashford Books is proudly Australian-owned and operated, our publishing network has always been international. With offices in Sydney, London, and Auckland, along with publishing partnerships across the United States and more than 20 languages worldwide, our books reach readers across continents and cultures.
Today, Ashford Books continues to expand its presence in the United States, bringing our experience in lifestyle publishing to a wider audience of authors, creators, and readers.
